About Our School
Welcome to Vernon Middle School!
At Vernon, our motto is “Performance is our Passion.” What does this mean in practice? It means we put learning first and work hard to help our students master the standards, think critically, and become skilled problem solvers. It means we are people of integrity who understand that it’s all about moral character and doing what it right. Lastly, it means that we provide students with opportunities to grow in the visual and performing arts so that they become confident and creative learners.
We offer unique programs here at Vernon. The Arts Conservatory at Vernon allows students to be exposed to two different visual and performing arts electives during the school day. We offer introductory and advanced classes in dance, choir, piano, band, orchestra, drama, art, and multi-media. Students in this program will have numerous opportunities to perform both on and off campus. They also have the privilege of attending a variety of arts-related field trips. Vernon is also an AVID school with a program that continues to grow every year. Students in the AVID program are given the tools that they need to be successful so that they can attend college. They visit universities throughout the school year and have a strong support group of students, teachers, parents, and administration.
I encourage all Panthers to work hard in their classes, embrace the challenges, get involved, and seek opportunities to learn and grow and this will be a great year for them AND for Vernon.
Know that we are here to help all students and want to see them do great things. After all, that is the PANTHER WAY.
