About Our School
Welcome back to another exciting year at Vernon Middle School. The middle school years are time for growth, challenge and discovery. At Vernon, we encourage and prepare students to participate fully, to take risks, to be self-advocates, and to create lasting memories and relationships with their peers and with staff members. I am proud to serve as the principal of such an exciting and dynamic school. The entire staff here works collaboratively to provide a safe, supportive, and caring environment that, through Perseverance, Respect, Integrity, Discipline and Empathy, values individual differences and ensures the success of all students.
Our goal at Vernon is to provide an enriching, engaging, and challenging curriculum that will prepare students for success and support college and career readiness. We provide a rigorous curriculum, and offer multiple opportunities for students to be successful. We are proud of the comprehensive middle school program that we offer here at Vernon. In addition to academics, students may find an outlet for their talents in areas such as; the arts, technology, leadership, or athletics. We are here to meet the needs of all students academically, physically, socially, and emotionally. Every adult on campus is committed to ensuring all students feel safe and succeed academically. We believe that students, parents, and teachers all play a vital role in helping students reach their greatest potential.

Providing quality instruction that engages learners and provides access to the Common Core State standards
Integrating and developing distinctive programs such as VAPA and AVID to provide students with a well- rounded educational experience and support College and Career Readiness Ensuring a safe and positive school climate through the implementation of PBIS behavioral model Reaching a school-wide attendance goal of 98% Providing teachers and students access to technology to support learning in the classroom and 21st century learning skills.
