School Facility Conditions and Planned Improvements
Avalon school maintains a clean and safe site. Our Avalon campus consists of three beautiful Mission-style buildings built in 1924, sixteen elementary bungalows and five secondary bungalows. One groundskeeper and two day and evening custodians currently maintain the campus grounds and buildings. District maintenance staff ensures that the repairs necessary to keep the school in good repair and working order are completed in a timely manner. An emergency work order process or routine repair request (3-R Ticket) is used to ensure efficient service and that emergency repairs are given the highest priority.Recent upgrades to the facility have included security cameras. exterior lighting, and a newly installed gym floor. Planned improvements include a digital intercom and emergency notification system, HVAC modernization, and playground resurfacing.
